My Shadow
My shadow is a grey cat who makes lizards drop their tails
Who makes grown men bring her food and napkins to clean her whiskers
She naps into the afternoon
calling it meditation
Visioning the next service the loving waitron can perform for her
She fluffs up her tail
refining her finery
and steps boldly into the night
Regal and proud as a peacock
in a furry cat suit
She believes she is the center of the Universe
but we know better
